I fell in love with running while competing for my high school cross country and track team in San Jose. I went on to compete for the San Jose State University cross country team where I received my bachelor's degree in Kinesiology in 2005. While at SJSU, I was a scholar athlete, served as a team captain and became an assistant coach after I finished my running eligibility. It was here that I discovered my passion to help others recover from injury, and decided to pursue a career in Physical Therapy. I was accepted in University of Southern California's #1 ranked Physical Therapy program and graduated with my Doctor in Physical Therapy in 2010. Since graduation, I have been successfully working with athletes to return to their sport in an orthopedics and sports setting, including Santa Clara University's athletic training department. My philosophy is to treat the whole body, using the kinetic chain model, to find the root source of the injury. In my journey to treat the body as a whole, I am applying osteopathic techniques as part of my assessment and treatment plan. Due to this approach, clients are having faster results, reporting they "feel better in their whole body" and athletes are returning to their sport quicker with improve performance.

In her spare time, Dr. Janet is still activity running. You may see her running locally through the streets or at Alum Rock park. Occasionally, you'll see her stroller running with her 3 year old daughter. When she is not racing, she will volunteer at local running events such as Rock 'n Roll San Jose and 408k. The longest event she has medically volunteered for is Western States 100.
